I am an environmental and science journalist recently graduated from Columbia Journalism School. My focus is climate change, pollution, and coastal ecosystems, with an eye to both the local and global picture. My past experience includes working as an online editor in the newsroom of a daily paper and collaborating with other journalists on cross-border stories. In 2012, I co-founded Italy's first center for investigative journalism. While continuing to foster the organization’s development, I interned and carried out a journalism traineeship at an Italian newspaper. Between one contract and another, I worked as freelancer and media fixer at a national and international level. In 2016, I was awarded a fellowship by the Knight Foundation, Vice, and CUNY to develop an online interactive data visualization of cross-border shipments of hazardous waste. The Milan-based lab Density Design helped me realize a first version of it and there are plenty of ideas for the next phase.
