Arabic English French

I co-produced with OTOXO Productions in 2017 a social documentary following the story of Fatima, Farah, Haya. Three artists from across the Arab World; marginalised by patriarchy, stifled by censorship, and divided by borders not easily breached. United by creativity, energy, and a belief in these two factors alone as catalysts for real change. Now, in Barcelona, they find themselves away from home, but together for the first time. Borders and Promises follow these women as their lives and their art become woven together while they struggle to have their own, and countless other silenced voices heard.

The Next Heroes: Sucess Story of Global Muslim Women I was inspired to produce a Documentary web-series that featured amazing Muslim women doing great work in the world. I want to show how Muslim women truly live. That’s why I created “The Next Heroes”, an interview web series featuring outstanding Muslim women”. The mainstream media's portrayal of Muslim women today varies from stereotypes of 'oppressed' Muslim women to more positive images reinforcing the independent, working Muslim woman. There is an increasing number of Muslim women who are taking up roles within the media either as journalists, writers or activists in order to combat stereotypes and create understanding between faiths. In this episode, I interviewed Ahlem Mahroua, the founder of Digital Nomads Media, and former Google employee. She showed her inspiring story as on how she went from #Google to #entrepreneur and created her digital marketing agency

I hope that through using the power of the web voices of Muslim women will be amplified and believes that Muslim women are currently “at the heart of racist and sexist oppression and thus shape a world in which women freely choose the arms of their emancipation”.
