Satvika is a passionate human rights researcher and filmmaker with an MSc in Journalism from the Medill School of Journalism, Northwestern University. She produced a documentary series in association with the James W. Foley Legacy Foundation, Reporters Without Borders (RSF), and the Medill School of Journalism for 'The James W. Foley Guide on Journalists’ Safety.' Her work has been featured on Defense News TV, which runs worldwide on the Armed Forces Network, and reaches defence officials on KTLA in Washington, D.C. She has produced digital media content for the Military Times, Army Times, Air Force Times, and Federal Times in Virginia. Currently, she works as a freelance researcher with Durbar Mahila Samanwaya Committee on Pre-exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) as an HIV preventive intervention in Sonagachi, Kolkata, India Against Trafficking (IAT) network on building a networked solution to trafficking, and with survivors of Incest and Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) at RAHI Foundation.
