Shaheen Shah is a freelance journalist based in Pakistan. Fluent in Pashto, Urdu and English . He reports regularly from the Federally Administrated Tribal Areas, including Waziristan, the Swat Valley, Islamabad, and Afghanistan. He files regularly for Voice of America and various other radio and print media organizations. His reporting focuses on socioeconomic issues that affect Pakistanis and Afghans, such as music, the conditions in refugee camps, the effects of Sharia law on tribal communities, the judicial system and health related issues including AIDS and Polio. Shaheen has been writing articles and analysis for different local and international news organizations regularly on different issues. A native of Fata, he holds two masters degrees, including mass communications and Women and gender studies. He also speaks conversational French, Arabic, German, Farsi and Punjabi
