Parkinson’s is a brain disorder, resulting from the early loss of dopamine-producing nerve cells from deep within the brain. Dave Walsh was diagnosed with the condition when just 40 years of age. He went through hell, including depression and suicide attempts but now ten years later few people are aware that he is a sufferer. People wonder how could this tall, fit, handsome man, who works out daily and is always doing something, have Parkinson’s? Why isn’t he shaking, shuffling his feet and slurring his words? Surely the same Dave couldn’t be planning to climb three of the tallest buildings on the east coast of the USA? Is this the same man who cycled across the USA and last summer climbed Carrauntoohil, Ireland’s highest mountain? Audio, photos and video is available.
