Stories about the daily struggle of deprived rural children to access education can, sometimes, be mind-boggling.
The fate of pupils of a local Islamic school in a community near Bawku in the Upper East Region of Ghana remains uncertain.
This is because decades after it was set up, secular education is yet to be introduced, limiting the scope of study to only the Qur’anic and Arabic.
