Mavis Okyere is a journalist based in Juaso, Ghana.
Mavis Okyere with twelve years experience as a journalist with a Community Radio Station known as Radio Progress in the Upper West Region of Ghana , Ahwenepa fm in Juaso ,the Ghana News Agency and Voice of America.
She has helped to nurture up Read moreand coming Radio Presenters and reporters for Radio Progress. 
Working as the News Editor and Assistant Head of Programs, she passionately trains new interns and Reporters at Radio Progress as She herself started her journalism profession as an intern in 2011 at Radio Progress whiles in her third year at the Wa Campus of  the University for Development Studies .
Through her work as a Journalist there have been several interventions for deprived communities in the Upper West Region of Ghana without potable drinking, schools and furniture. 
Mavis Okyere received the Youth in Innovative Media Award received from the National Youth Authority in the Upper West Region as part of the Youth Achievers Awards held on the 3rd November, 2018 and third Best Journalist in the Upper West Region in Social Accountability reporting award from the Action for Sustainable Development (ASUDEV) on the 11th May, 2019
She is a 2019 Community Solutions Fellow, a Fellowship Program sponsored by the United States Department of State and IREX.
As part of the Community Solutions fellowship she worked with the Voice of America in Washington DC from August 13th 2019 to November 29th, 2019.Through her time with the Voice of America She wrote new stories from Ghana, and other African Countries for the English to Africa Division of the Voice of America.
Many of her stories are aired on Africa News Night, Day Break Africa, Nightline and South Sudan in Focus at the English to Africa Division of the Voice of America.
She is currently using media to educate and advocate for people in the Wa Municipality stop the practice open defecation.
She currently works for the Voice of America as a stringer
