An Advanced Look at the LVCC Expansion

01 Mar 2020  |  smartmeetings.com
The Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) is undergoing a significant expansion with Phase Two adding a new 600,000-square-foot West Hall and increasing the total exhibition space to 2.5 million square feet. The $935 million project includes a modern entrance, an outdoor terrace, and tech-friendly features like fast Wi-Fi and integrated AV equipment. An innovative high-speed people mover, developed in partnership with Elon Musk, will connect the new hall with the existing space using autonomous Tesla shuttles. The expansion is set to open in December 2020, with further updates to the existing facility planned for completion by 2023.

Middle Eastern Laptop Ban Lifted

20 Jul 2017  |  smartmeetings.com
Nine out of ten African and Middle Eastern airports affected by the U.S.-bound laptop ban have had the restriction lifted after reinforcing security measures. The Department of Homeland Security approved the measures, which include enhanced passenger screening and explosive-trace-detection screening. King Khalid International Airport is expected to be approved soon. Etihad Airways was the first to have the ban lifted for its passengers. The Transportation Security Administration will monitor compliance, and DHS warns that airlines failing to upgrade security could face new restrictions.
