Ibama Contest: Minister Speaks of Authorization! See Details
The Brazilian Institute of the Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (Ibama) is set to be included in the federal contests package, as confirmed by Marina Silva, the Minister of the Environment and Climate Change. Although the exact number of authorized positions has not been disclosed, 2,408 vacancies have been requested, including 1,503 for environmental analysts and 905 for administrative analysts. The contest aims to strengthen Ibama's workforce for better participation in environmental oversight and protection. Additionally, Esther Dweck, the Minister of Management and Public Service Innovation, announced that more federal contests would be authorized, with the Ministry of Science and Technology Innovation already approved for 814 analyst, technologist, and researcher positions.
IBAMA Contest: Authorization for New Notice Will Be Requested!
The Brazilian Institute of the Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (IBAMA) is preparing to request authorization for a new public service examination to fill vacancies. The request is based on Official Letter No. 64/2023 sent to the Directorate of Planning, Administration, and Logistics (Diplan) of the agency. Additionally, Bill 2890/2022, which proposes an increase in IBAMA's staff, was recently submitted. The exact number of vacancies and positions to be included in the IBAMA contest authorization is not yet known. The last public contest held in 2021 offered 568 positions for various administrative and environmental roles. Currently, IBAMA has 3,052 vacant positions, and the staffing situation is particularly concerning for environmental enforcement officers, with only about 700 active, down from 1,800 in 2008.
Courses prepare HR for new challenges
The corporate world is facing challenges in recruiting qualified talent, and human resources (HR) managers must be prepared to identify trends and demands. Studies by Mercer and Manpower highlight the need for lifelong learning and the difficulty employers face in finding skilled employees. Brazilian programs, such as those offered by Fundação Getulio Vargas, Fundação Dom Cabral, Insper, Saint Paul, and Fundação Instituto de Administração, are developing courses to address these challenges. These include strategic management, organizational transformation, and new technologies. The courses aim to prepare HR professionals for a volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA) world and to foster strategic decision-making in people management.
