Arjen Westra survived the Westgate mall attacks in Nairobi, where 62 people were killed. He managed to stay safe by lying on the ground, while a friend hid in a broom closet for 5.5 hours to avoid the terrorists. Westra, a journalist living in Nairobi since 2002, returned to the Netherlands in the afternoon and appeared on Pauw & Witteman in the evening.
