Josh Thomas - Let's Tidy Up | Adelaide Fringe 2024 Review

06 Mar 2024  |  playandgo.com.au
Comedian Josh Thomas returns to stand-up comedy with his show 'Let's Tidy Up' at The Garden of Unearthly Delights, part of the Adelaide Fringe 2024. The show, which touches on themes of personal growth and self-acceptance, including his experiences with ADHD and autism, is well-received for its relatability and Thomas's quirky style. Co-written with playwright Lally Katz, the show is a deeply personal act that resonates with audiences. Despite some visibility issues at The Vagabond venue, the show is recommended for its engaging content and Thomas's appeal.

"I Confronted My School Bullies And This Is What Happened"

12 Jul 2019  |  marie claire
The author recounts a personal journey of reconnecting with former school peers who had once bullied them. The first person they attempt to contact is 'Pete', a former bully who is now working in mining and does not respond to the connection request on LinkedIn. The author then reaches out to 'Gwen', another school peer, through Facebook. Gwen, who now works in real estate in Christchurch and describes herself as shy, agrees to a phone interview. During the interview, Gwen apologizes for her past behavior, which she does not remember, and reflects on how her own children are growing up in a more culturally diverse environment and learning the importance of kindness, especially in the wake of the Christchurch mosque shootings.

Pass the Tomato Juice

03 Sep 2018  |  Beauticate
The article discusses the health benefits of lycopene, a nutrient found in tomatoes. Lycopene, which cannot be synthesized by the human body, must be obtained through diet. It offers several advantages, including mitigating UV-induced skin damage, slowing down the ageing process, reducing skin redness, promoting hair growth, treating scalp issues, and decreasing hair loss. Moreover, lycopene may serve as a preventive agent against various severe health conditions, including cancer. The article also notes that cooked tomatoes release more lycopene than raw ones and mentions the skincare brand Yes To Tomatoes, which incorporates lycopene in its products.
