Carla Pohl

I am a photographer and have realised projects mainly in Berlin and Brandenburg. For me, telling stories in pictures means communicating with social themes and giving the little-noticed a conscious presence. These are always questions that touch, fascinate and move me.

I studied art history and literature at the Free University of Berlin, graduating with a Magister Artium degree. I learned photography from Sibylle Bergemann and Arno Fischer, and since 2016 I have been supported in my work by Gundula Schulze Eldowy.

Topics focussing on environmental protection, nature conservation, agriculture and animal welfare tend to become more and more important in the age of climate change. In a still strongly androcentric society in which women receive little recognition and have to do more work in order to be successful, it is time to draw attention to women in the above-mentioned field. Wwww.carlapohl.comith my project I want to show their strengths in professions that seem untypical for women. In cultural history, the feminine has always been associated with nature. Don't women therefore have a different approach and a more sustainable approach to nature?
