I'm a freelance journalist based in the UK. I trained in London, achieving a gold-standard NCTJ qualification in multimedia journalism. I have seven years experience writing on various topics including politics, current affairs, entertainment and environmentalism. My articles have appeared in The Times, The Independent and SW Londoner. I covered the UK general election in 2017, the US election in 2016 from London, and Primavera festival in Barcelona. I am primarily a print journalist but I also dabble in photography I'm a dual-national with South African and British passports. Having been raised in South Africa I can understand basic Afrikaans.
I co-wrote a piece on Primavera Sound festival in 2016, comparing European festival lineups to those in the UK. (I didn't write the headline)
I created content for SW Londoner on the 2017 UK general election, including this feature piece on minor parties containing infographic and video content.
Labour candidate Emma Dent Coad won the historically Conservative seat at Kensington after a gruelling 36 hours: an overnight count and a return the next evening. I was there for the entire thing, writing for SW Londoner as one of the few media organisations who had registered to report from this constituency.
