Youth from Mathare's Mlango Kubwa area, under the banner of Future Leaders 254, have partnered with the Finnish-Kenya Society to promote environmental conservation. With financial support collated by the UN's Sari Seppanen, they aim to plant 5,000 trees in two years. The initiative focuses on educating the community about proper waste management and the importance of a clean environment, using art forms like music, film, and documentaries to communicate their message. Despite challenges like water shortages and stray animals, measures are being implemented to ensure the longevity of the plants.
