Chika Mefor-Nwachukwu is a freelance journalist based in Abuja, Nigeria. Her major career goal is to be a leading voice in the campaign for the inclusion of women in all facades of media practice (particularly the leadership aspect of the profession), a quest that led her into participating in the Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigation Journalism (WSCIJ) Female Reporters’ Leadership Training Program (FRLP) in 2019. She is therefore, a fellow of the WSCIJ/FRLP. She has been involved in several humanitarian services including reporting on the situation of impoverished natives of the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria, covering the situation of internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the insurgency-affected North-Eastern part of Nigeria. She loves human angle stories that bring about development to the society. She is also an expert in writing Solution Journalism stories.
