David Matthews is a field producer/ video journalist/ photo journalist and editor based in London, United Kingdom. I invest my experience, knowledge and skills into every story that I work on. As a self-taught field producer and editor, I have years of experience in the field and covered independently, a number of news stories across the UK. I currently cooperate as freelance camera operator/ field producer and editor with Ruptly TV, in addition to performing my duties as partner/owner of Carter Matthews Photography & Video. I dare to be a little outside the norm as a videographer. Rather than specialising in one area, I take on various work and projects for all sorts of wonderful reasons that regularly challenge me as a professional. For example, I will prepare and deliver Brexit or Arms Trade Protest package for news agencies or spend days in the mountains filming wildlife. As a field producer and editor I have immaculate work ethic and excellent interpersonal skills. I can help a news organization generate revenue without compromising their ethics. My strengths include: sound theoretical, practical and technical knowledge of cameras, the ability to frame and compose shots, the ability to perform camera moves accurately, interpersonal and communication skills, the capacity to multi-task and take direction from others, team working skills and the ability to lead and motivate others, tact and diplomacy, the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines, flexibility, creativity and patience, attention to detail.
