Stars of the automotive world in Frankfurt

13 Sep 2019  |  euronews
The Frankfurt Auto Show, second only to the Geneva Auto Show in Europe, showcased a mix of electric concept cars and traditional fossil fuel-powered vehicles. Lamborghini's Sián, with over 800 horsepower, was considered one of the most attractive cars at the event. Mercedes-Benz introduced its luxury electric vehicle, the EQS, as a competitor to Tesla, boasting a range of 700 kilometers on a single charge. BMW tried to attract attention with its electric concept of the 4 Series but faced criticism for its designs. Land Rover's Defender highlighted the ongoing popularity of gasoline and diesel vehicles. Volkswagen announced the ID.3, its third revolutionary car, an electric vehicle with a range of over 300 kilometers per charge. Porsche also introduced its electric vehicle, the Taycan, priced at 100,000 euros. Classic cars were another attraction at the show, despite the absence of many companies like Peugeot, Citroën, Ferrari, Fiat, and Alfa Romeo.

110 Years of Power and Glory in Bugatti

10 Sep 2019  |  euronews
Bugatti, founded in Molsheim, northeastern France, by Italian industrialist and artist Ettore Bugatti in 1909, is known for producing the world's fastest cars. A special Bugatti Chiron recently reached a speed of 490 km/h. The brand gained a special place among car enthusiasts due to Ettore's belief in crafting cars to the highest standard. After his son's death in 1939 and Ettore's subsequent death, the company faced bankruptcy but was revived by Italian entrepreneur Romano Artioli in 1987 and entered a new era with the acquisition by the Volkswagen Group in 1998. Bugatti now holds records for the fastest and most expensive cars in the world, with the introduction of the Bugatti La Voiture Noire priced at 16 million euros.
