Childhood trips between my native Manhattan and the Caribbean, where my extended family lives, instilled in me a desire to explore. I opted to embrace the discomforts and pleasures presented in each of those vastly different worlds. Growing up in a metropolis gave me a cosmopolitan mindset, while my connection to the tropics kept me grounded in the realities of the Global South. This serves me today as I am equally at ease presenting cultures and landscapes for audiences in a luxury market, as well as those within a more news-based context, for publications like The New York Times, Monocle, and Konfekt Magazine.

Portfolio
This travel piece unfolds as a road trip to a little-visited stretch of coast in northwestern Spain. Though my editor initially reached out to ask what I thought of covering Ferrol, a small Galician city, as a destination, I offered an alternative city, A Coruña, that seemed better suited to the magazine's readership. After a bit of brainstorming, we settled on a road trip that would take in both cities, and also include a smattering of picturesque villages. I reached out to my contacts and conducted some research to arrive at a three-day itinerary that would allow visitors to get to the heart of the region's charms.

After doing field recordings and writing a travel story about my journey to Suriname's Mount Kasikasima for Patek Philippe Magazine, I developed a script and recorded an in-studio voice-over to accompany a video based on the journey. I worked in close collaboration with the magazine's editorial and photography teams to ensure that the video paired seamlessly with the published article, while providing enough additional perspective and sensory experiences to stand on its own.
I was commissioned by Monocle Magazine to cover the aviation industry in Andalusia based on the announcement by Swiss manufacturer Pilatus that it would be opening a facility just outside of Seville. Though my editor initially thought the piece would cover commercial aircraft, my research indicated that investigating Airbus' history with military aircraft in Spain would tell a more complete story of how and why the region's contributions to the industry are relevant on a global scale. I also visited smaller labs and manufacturers working to modernize and expand the Andalusian aviation sector.
