Portfolio
Part two of a two-part series on sexting for Independent Leader magazine.
The issue of sexting is a major cause for concern in schools across the UK; I spoke with the headmaster of a school who has first-hand experience of the damage it can do. Part one - Independent Leader magazine.
I travelled into the hardest hit areas of Nepal to capture the rebuilding efforts of Women for Peace and Democracy, Nepal. I conducted the field interview with Shobha Shrestha and shot all the footage (excluding the footage from 2015/immediate disaster relief aid). I also edited and scripted the package, which I then sent back to David from World Accord to voice.
The five senses of Nepal
The article provides a vivid account of the author's experiences in Nepal following the devastating earthquake in April. It describes the resilience and continuity of life amidst the destruction, with tent cities housing displaced families and children playing with joy despite the circumstances. The author observes the ongoing disaster relief efforts, noting that new schools are being rebuilt, but homes must wait until after the monsoon season. The narrative is rich with sensory details, capturing the sights, sounds, smells, tastes, and touch of Nepal, from the chaotic traffic to the flavors of local cuisine. The piece reflects on the initial sensory overload that eventually becomes a new normal for the author, leaving a lasting impression of the country's beauty and the warmth of its people.
