Former DPSM Director Charged With Corruption
Pearl Matome, the former Director at the Directorate of Public Service Management (DPSM), has been charged with two counts of corruption. These charges were brought against her following her departure from public service earlier in the year under dubious circumstances. Matome appeared at the Gaborone Regional Magistrate Court, where she was accused of failing to disclose a personal interest in a decision made by DPSM to employ Goitsemodimo Precious Sewane, a close family member. The alleged offense took place between October and November 2006 in Gaborone.
