Bird's bankruptcy filing in Miami allows protection from creditors while it seeks to reorganize and repay them. A Canadian firm is tentatively set to acquire Bird, which has faced challenges from city regulations and bans in over one-third of the top 100 cities, including Barcelona and Sydney. Bird was founded in 2017 by ex-Uber executive Travis VanderZanden.

Montagan Nukdai, a waitress who survived the attack, shared her harrowing experience of hiding with others, including a young child, in a cramped staff room while the shooter was active.
