Le vendredi 23 avril, deux femmes ont été kidnappées dans les champs périphériques de Kiwanja, près de Kasenyi Buhimba et du champ pénitentiaire de Nyongera-Kiwanja, dans le territoire de Rutshuru, au Nord-Kivu. Les suspects de cet enlèvement sont les combattants du groupe armé CMC-Nyantura, qui sont actifs dans la région. La notabilité de Rutshuru a signalé que le groupe armé opère dans les environs de Kiwanja et dans les groupements de Binza, Busanza et Bukoma sans être perturbé. Mbusa Mukanda Aimé a exprimé son regret, mentionnant qu'il n'y avait pas eu de cas de kidnapping signalé dans la région de Kiwanja depuis environ un an.

The fighting took place in the villages of Kamatembe and Kahira, within the Bashali-Mokoto groupment and the Bashali chieftaincy. Civilians are among the casualties, and there has been a report of a sexual assault on a girl by the militia, as well as looting of local inhabitants' property. The information was confirmed by a representative of the civil society in Kitshanga.

Réception du premier lot du vaccin Astrazeneca en Province du Nord-Kivu

La Province du Nord-Kivu en RD Congo a reçu son premier lot de vaccin Astrazeneca contre la Covid-19 le 21 avril 2021. Un total de 60 mille doses a été réceptionné par le ministre provincial de la santé, Nzanzu Salita. La distribution commencera par les villes de Goma, Beni et Butembo, avant de s'étendre à d'autres régions. La campagne de vaccination est prévue pour débuter le 1er mai. Nord-Kivu est la deuxième province la plus affectée par la pandémie en RD Congo, avec 2.231 cas, après Kinshasa qui en compte 20.514.
