Minas Gerais, an interior state in southeastern Brazil, is known for its diverse landscapes and rich history, shared with neighboring São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Belo Horizonte, the state's modern capital, offers spectacular viewpoints and iconic buildings by architect Óscar Niemeyer. The state is also home to Inhotim, the world's largest open-air museum, and the nature-rich Capitólio lakes. Since the beginning of Madrid City’s Lockdown due to covid-19 disease, I am contributing with news agencies. From my experiences on the empty streets, I have worked on a personal project that witnesses the historical moment we are going through.

On Tuesday at 8 pm, during the time when people encourage each other from their windows, photographer Juan Serrano Corbella witnessed an unexpected and moving scene outside the Ice Palace in Madrid's Hortaleza district, which has been converted into a morgue due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Morgue workers spontaneously came out to the street and began to applaud, joining the neighbors and police officers in a moment that was particularly stirring, leaving everyone with goosebumps and holding their breath.
