Driver crashes into a police patrol car after chase that ended in Long Beach
Several deputies were involved in a fatal shooting of an armed man with a knife following a domestic violence call in Long Beach. The deputies responded to a restraining order violation on Indiana Avenue in Paramount. They spoke with the victim and saw the subject pass by the house. The man was later seen driving in Long Beach, where he stopped his car, reversed, and crashed into a sheriff's patrol car. Exiting with a knife, he was shot by the deputies and died at the scene. One deputy was injured during the confrontation, and the intersection of Downey Avenue and Artesia Boulevard was closed for investigation.
