Waste in Luanda: ASCOFA creates cooperative to employ former soldiers

The Association of Former FAPLAS Combatants (ASCOFA) has introduced a plan to form a cooperative aimed at reintegrating its members into the workforce through a cleaning campaign in major cities of Angola. The initiative, announced by ASCOFA president Caetano Marcolino, will employ 200 men to start cleaning Luanda on the following Monday. The cooperative will provide remuneration, food, and equipment such as shovels, wheelbarrows, and tricycles for waste collection and transport. The ex-soldiers will also maintain public gardens and ensure their preservation.
