In this YouTube Shorts explainer, we dive into the reasons behind Lawrence Bishnoi’s ongoing feud with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. From past grievances to the infamous Black Buck poaching case, discover the key events leading to the tension between the two. I researched, wrote the script, sourced relevant videos, and created this concise explainer to give a quick insight into the matter.
I created an explainer video for CNN News18 titled "Rashmika Mandanna Morphed Video: What is Deepfake Technology & How it is Created." The video explored how deepfake technology works, the risks it poses, and provided practical tips on how viewers can protect themselves from becoming victims of deepfake attacks. The goal of the project was to raise awareness about the misuse of AI and emphasize the importance of online safety. For this video, I conducted research on deepfake technology, wrote the script, and created graphics to visually explain the workings of deepfake videos and their potential dangers. This project aimed to educate viewers about the growing threats of AI-generated media and the need for vigilance in the digital age.
I worked as the assistant producer and translator for Voice of America’s documentary, "India's Shackled Press," which tells the story of Raihanath Kappan, wife of jailed journalist Siddique Kappan. The film follows her struggles to support her three children and fight for her husband's release after he was arrested en route to reporting on a Dalit woman’s rape and murder. Siddique Kappan was finally granted bail and released in February 2023 after over two years of legal battles.
I translated interviews, conversations, and footage from Malayalam and Hindi to English, ensuring accuracy and cultural context in the documentary’s narrative. This was especially important in conveying the emotional depth of Raihanath Kappan’s story to an international audience.
Additionally, I assisted the editor with bytes, subtitles and dialogue placements, making sure that the translation aligned seamlessly with the visual and auditory elements of the documentary.
