Mbare Art Space is a unique artistic center located in the heart of Zimbabwe's capital, where Zimbabweans can freely express their art. Artist Tashinga Majiri frequents the center to work on his pieces, finding it a respite from daily problems. The space was founded over 10 years ago by internationally renowned artist Moffat Takadiwa, who wanted to provide local access to art and revitalize the impoverished Mbare neighborhood. Takadiwa also focuses on environmental issues, creating art from waste materials to raise awareness about waste management challenges exacerbated by the pandemic.
