Sergii Kharchenko is a RISC and Centurion trained Ukrainian news photographer and documentarian based in Kyiv, Ukraine. Covered Euromaidan in Kyiv (also known as the Ukrainian revolution of Dignity), Russian invasion of Crimea and the beginning of war in Donbas region (the first 1,5 years). For the last few years I have worked for different printed Ukrainian and foreign media and agencies as a freelancer. In summer/autumn 2018 worked on a documentary project on human rights in Kazakhstan for the Italian Federation of Human Rights (FIDU), after that joined the UN OHCHR project on the civil victims of tortures at warzone in Donbas region. The longest-term project is the social documentary series "Abandoned Age" about inhabitants of state-owned and controlled care houses. Prefer to work on society & civil issues
