Improving neonatal health with family-centered, early postnatal care: A quasi-experimental study in India
The study examines the impact of the Care Companion Program (CCP) on neonatal health in India, highlighting its association with reduced neonatal mortality rates. The CCP, designed by Noora Health, trains families on essential maternal and neonatal care during hospital stays and provides post-discharge follow-up through a WhatsApp-based platform. The quasi-experimental study, conducted across 28 facilities in four Indian states, shows promising results in improving neonatal care practices and reducing preventable complications. Despite some limitations, the study suggests that family-centered care interventions can significantly enhance neonatal health outcomes.

Rana Plaza, an nine-story commercial building, collapsed in Savar, a sub-district in the Greater Dhaka Area, the capital of Bangladesh. The search for the dead ended on 13 May with the death toll of 1,135. Approximately 2,515 injured people were rescued from the building alive.
