29 Jun 2023  |  MDPI
The study evaluates the biological activities of Potentilla nepalensis, a Himalayan medicinal herb, focusing on its antioxidant, antibacterial, and anticancer properties. Using various assays, the study found higher total phenolic and flavonoid content in the methanolic root extract, which also showed good antioxidant activity. The n-hexane root extract exhibited strong cytotoxic activity against SK-MEL-28 cells. Molecular docking studies predicted potential anticancer properties of identified bioactive compounds. The study suggests that P. nepalensis could lead to new herbal medicines for various diseases, including the creation of new medications for melanoma.
