Tamara is a freelance journalist covering foreign affairs, humanitarian stories, culture, travel, and the environment. Now in Egypt, she is particularly interested in cultural narratives from the MENA region. 

Across the last seven years, she's spearheaded several features and investigations for The Guardian, The Independent, Al Jazeera, Euronews, and others. This has included written features, photography series and short-form documentaries. 

Tamara has taken a key interest in women-led narratives, immigration and conflict resolution. In the past, she has written about the meteoric rise of freediving and interviewed Afghanistan's first female breakdancer. She's also recently been embedded alongside an all-female de-mining squad in Vietnam. 

Tamara was recently named a finalist in the 2024 Travel Media Awards for her coverage in the MENA region. 

She is also a trending news reporter for the Evening Standard, regularly contributing to the SEO desk on global topics of interest to the outlet's international readership. 

Aside from her editorial work, Tamara is also a documentary producer who's crafted a number of short-form news documentaries from around the world. Her tasks include ideation, pitching, script writing interviews, post-production, and marketing.
