A woman named Abigail was arrested by the Rivers State Police Command for stabbing a 12-year-old girl named Oluebube in Rumuodara, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area. The incident occurred when Oluebube accidentally collided with Abigail while washing plates, causing both to fall. Despite neighbors' pleas that it was a mistake, Abigail ordered Oluebube to sweep the spilled water and subsequently stabbed her with a knife, which broke and remained lodged in the girl's body. The police were alerted, and although Abigail attempted to flee, she was apprehended. The Police Public Relations Officer, Grace Iringe-koko, confirmed that the knife was removed from the victim's body and that Abigail would face prosecution.

Former Nigerian lawmaker Mansur Ali Mashi and three bank officials were convicted of fraud by Justice Sale Musa Shuaibu of the Federal High Court in Kaduna. The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has accused the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) of engaging in fraudulent activities related to the distribution of petroleum products.
