He is a multi-award winning journalist and at the moment who was once been the Bureau Chief/Chief Reporter for Times Media Group responsible for the Central Region of Malawi as well as Nationally respectively. Times Media Group comprise Times Television, Blantyre Newspapers Limited (which publishes, The Daily Times (Monday to Friday), Malawi News (Saturday), The Sunday Times), Times online, as well as a radio station. 
Previously he was the Regional Editor and Bureau Chief as well as Chief Reporter for Zodiak Broadcasting Station.
His career span through newspaper reporting where he has produced quality news and feature stories for major publishing houses for the country's daily newspapers; The Nation Publications Limited and The BNL besides stringing for the country's public broadcaster, the Malawi Broadcasting Corporation. He has also corresponded for various international news outlets including CNN.

Brian Ligomeka is a journalist based in Blantyre, Malawi. Brian has worked for both local and international media outlets in his career spanning over 20 years. In Malawi, Brian Ligomeka worked as Editor for Times Group where he edited The Sunday Times, The Daily Times and was also the producer of Read moresome current affairs programmes for Times Television and Times Radio. He has also contributed to several international media outlets including Inter Press Service, BBC Monitoring Service, South Africa's News24, Africa Confidential and is the current stringer for Deutsche Presse Agentur (Germany News Agency) in Malawi. He currently leads a human rights media organisation, Centre for Solutions Journalism.
Besides contributing to international media, Brian has also served as a fixer for journalists from such organisations as CNN and SkyNews.
Brian holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree from Heriot-Watt University in Scotland, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mass Communication from Shareworld Open University. He also has qualifications in teaching, having been educated at Blantyre Teachers College.
