Ali Babacan is reportedly forming a new political party in Turkey, aiming to fill a centrist gap in the political landscape. The party is expected to be supported by a 5-member commission including Abdullah Gül, Beşir Atalay, Fehmi Koru, Sadullah Ergin, and Haşim Kılıç. Ahmet Davutoğlu has proposed to Babacan to lead the party with support from himself and Gül. The new party will focus on economic reforms, re-establishing trust for foreign investment, and repairing relations with the West, particularly the United States and the European Union. It also plans to address gender equality through microcredit initiatives and to adopt a more comprehensive approach to terrorism that includes socio-economic and diplomatic strategies.
