Tom Roche is an accomplished film/video editor, published author, photographer, and radio host.

From 1982-85 he was Production Manager at the pre-MTV Atlanta Video Music Channel. He then spent 26 years as Senior Editor at Crawford Media Services, the largest post house in the Read moresoutheast, mastering a wide variety of editorial styles. From the earliest R.E.M. videos, to festival-selected short films, to broadcast/cable work for CNN, TBS, TNT, NFL, CCTV-Beijing, Al Jazeera, ABC, CBS, and NBC Olympics, to founding his own freelance editorial company in 2014, he continues to expand his editorial horizons.

He specialized in animation editing with 60 episodes of the pioneering Adult Swim series Space Ghost Coast-To-Coast. Another specialty: multi-camera concert editing, with videos for musicians as diverse as Kirk Franklin, Norah Jones, Melt-Banana and even Spinal Tap Unplugged. 

He's served on various NARAS Video and Historical Committees for over two decades.

His self-produced/directed documentary, Alley Pat: The Music Is Recorded landed First Place the 2010 Atlanta Film Festival. Additional civil rights documentaries as Associate Producer include Dare Not Walk Alone, Sacco & Vanzetti, and Foot Soldiers. Also in 2010, he edited the landmark Hurricane Katrina documentary for Harry Shearer, The Big Uneasy. 

His profile of BBC DJ John Peel appeared in the 2005 DeCapo Best Music Witting anthology.

His photographs have been published in Atlanta Magazine. He hosted the radio program Anything Goes on WMLB  2010-2015, and presently hosts jazz/blues/world shows on WWOZ-FM New Orleans.
