Le livre parle pour la première fois de l'enquête  menée par le juge Calia qui a démontré que Enrico Mattei, le fondateur et président du groupe pétrolier italien ENI (acronyme d'Ente Nazionale Idrocarburi), a été victime d'un attentat. Le volume, qui retrace cinquante ans d'omissions, mensonges et dépistages de la part de l'Etat Italien, a gagné le prestigieux Prix international de littérature, ville de Côme 2018,  section essai,  et de se positionner à la deuxième place.
