Martin Bertrand is a photographer journalist based in Amsterdam, Netherlands who started out at Agence France Presse and is now represented by Studio Hans Lucas.

With the mythical Mekong River and its resources as a common thread, he has put into perspective the geo-environmental issues related to development in the Indochinese peninsula (Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand).
He has also focused on Vietnamese and Laotian youth through the prism of street sports and urban culture.
In 2019, he travelled to Hong Kong to cover, among other things, the uprising of the pro-democracy movement which earned him a nomination for the Bayeux Prize for War Correspondents in the Young Reporter category.??Martin is also a political photographer covering French politics from the Brittany region, European affairs from Brussels and Dutch politics.

In addition to his projects, Martin also works on commissions from the press, NGOs and private companies.
His work is regularly published in the French and international press (Le Monde, Libération, The Washington Post, Le Figaro, Vice, Reporterre, Mr Mondialisation, Fisheye Magazine).
They have been awarded several times, including the François Chalais Young Reporter of the Year Award 2015 in the photo category. He was a finalist for the Grand Prix Paris Match du Photoreporter étudiant and won the Young Talents Photo Prize by fotofever as well as the Talent du Département des Côtes D'Armor in the Culture and Arts category.

Hi! I’m Kaja. In short: I studied journalism in the Netherlands and received my MA in Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. I lived in Israel for three years and reported on a number of stories in different cities in Israel, the Palestinian territories and Read moreEgypt and worked as a producer at the international TV channel i24NEWS. I then went on to live in Morocco and work as a foreign correspondent for about six months until the pandemic hit. In a hasty decision as the country’s borders closed, I got on a plane and left for the Netherlands (naively thinking I would be back in Morocco within a couple months).

As the pandemic continued to ravage the world, I slowly got used to being home. I started working on a morning radiotalkshow Spraakmakers, joined a season of evening TV talkshow M, became a producer on the foreign desk of our national broadcaster NOS and produced a summer series for investigative tv show Radar. Currently I’m freelancing, with the radiotalkshow and the national broadcaster being my two main employers. I’m still focusing on the Middle East North Africa region, but also getting back into Dutch politics and specializing in minority rights, women’s rights and social justice.

Being married to an American, I also spend a fair amount of my time in the US, mainly in Houston. In the foreseeable future I hope to either move back to the Middle East or discover the land of the free.

She also signs the short’s direction of photography and editing.Created by her, the independent web series "Volta na Quadra" won the NETLABTV prize and was selected by Telas Festival. It was also sponsored by Folha de S. Paulo and it completed 10 episodes. She also shot two seasons of a Riot Games' documentary series called “Legends Rising” and she was able to work with international crews from the USA, Chile, Paris and London.

She has been working for Greenpeace since 2014 and she did lots of campaigns, especially at the Amazon rainforest. She is also part of YVY, an initiative that brings together women who use image as an instrument of work and expression.

She studied journalism at the State University of Londrina and she did the August Documentary Intensive at UnionDocs (NY). She also did Abril Journalism Course, she got a postgraduate degree in video from Anhembi Morumbi University and she did other courses and workshops focused on cinematography, editing, impact documentary, script writing and entrepreneurship.
