Previously, I hosted a daily drive-time music program on the same network, TBS eFM, called Soundcheck from 2015 to 2017. It was a great opportunity to get in touch with the local music community, expats and Koreans alike. When we weren’t playing top 40 hits, cutting edge techno, classic rock b-sides and other world music obscurities, we invited local artists and touring musicians from around the world to play live on air.

I began my career as a foreign journalist at KBS World Radio from 2009-2011, copy-editing features, hosting programs and reading the news for our daily shortwave transmission.

In 2012, I was invited to join the KBS International Relations department to help plan the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union General Assembly in Seoul that year. I stuck around for the 2013 Global News Forum, which KBS also hosted. Both were successful and constructive events with the participation of major international broadcasters from NHK-Japan and CCTV-China to CNN International and BBC World.
